The guitar is a very romantic and adaptable instrument, which makes it ideally suited for capturing the mood on that special day; it is also very portable, making it easy to relocate from ceremony to reception when required.
Wedding guitarist Nigel Woodhouse has played at many weddings over the years in many prestigious venues from Leeds Castle to Blenheim Palace and most Mayfair Hotels. His solo repertoire is wide-ranging; it can include the lute music of Elizabethan England, Baroque pieces by Bach and Vivaldi, the romantic and passionate music of Spain and the infectious rhythms of South America. Nigel has many arrangements of familiar tunes from the charts, films and musicals, including such classics as Somewhere Over The Rainbow, The Deerhunter, and Somewhere My Love. Nigel's experience of playing for a wide variety of weddings and private functions has given him the ability to sense the mood of the guests and to change the style and pace of the music accordingly. |

Nigel has also played before and during the wedding ceremony, providing appropriate music for the entrance and exit of the bride and for the signing of the register. If there are specific requests for particular pieces these can usually be arranged given sufficient notice.
Duo Napolitano – Mandolin and Guitar
This duo was formed with guitarist Forbes Henderson to play mainly, but not exclusively, Italian music featuring the characteristic sound of the mandolin. It is a very flexible combination which can fit into a relatively small space, and can relocate fairly swiftly from playing at the ceremony to the reception. The core repertoire is Italian and will typically include Baroque pieces by Vivaldi, operatic arias by Verdi, lively traditional dances and Neapolitan songs – O Sole Mio, Funiculi Funicula, and themes from The Godfather and Captain Corelli's Mandolin. Aside from Italian music the Duo include favourites such as The Arrival Of The Queen Of Sheba, Boccherini's Minuet, Air on a G String, and Spanish Romance. |
